Service Scope
In the US, several federal and state regulations apply to Adult Jewelry which include but are not limited to: ASTM standards, CPSC regulations, California regulations including California Proposition 65 and California’s Metal Containing Jewelry Law, other state regulations and Federal Trade Commission requirements, standard performance and quality testing. Also, an industrial standard, ASTM F2999, specifies requirements for Adult Jewelry for enhancing safety and performance quality.
For Jewelry designed for children, ASTM designed a specific standard, ASTM F2923, to ensure a higher safety level for children although it is a voluntary standard.
In the EU, although there is no specific standard designed for Adult or Children Jewelry, restricted substances, such as nickel release and total lead, are regulated under Europe REACH directive.
The test will be conducted in compliance with the following standards for the US market.
- ASTM F2999
- ASTM F2923 (for children)
- CPSIA
- NIOSH
- Prop 65 Court Cast
The test will be conducted in compliance with the following standards for the EU market.
- REACH Annex XVII

Test Description
There are specific standards required to be tested for the compliance in the US and EU markets. Therefore, the following tests will be included according to the US / EU market test package.
For items designed for children, CPSIA according to the US regulation shall be performed in order to ensure the safety requirements specific to children.
