Recycling Label Review & Consultancy Service for Packaging

Service Scope

The French government has reformed the logos required on packaging and products to simplify sorting. Primary changes include the removal of the ‘Green Dot’ (‘Le Point Vert’) and the harmonization of the ‘Triman’ and ‘Sorting Info’ (‘Info-Tri’). Decree 2021-835 became mandatory on 1 January 2022.

The new format requires a piece of sorting advice, which can be in text (French!), pictogram, or both (sample shown below).

In Italy, Decree No. 116 of 3 September 2020 makes environmental labeling mandatory on all packaging, which aims to reduce the impact of packaging and packaging waste on the environment.  This regulation will be enforced on 1 January 2023.  There are 2 primary obligations:

  1. Producers must indicate the material of the packaging
  2. Packaging intended for end consumers must be clearly labeled with appropriate instructions for disposal (in Italian)

Our labeling review & consultancy services include, but are not limited to:

  • Assistance in choosing the format/layout and sorting information design (e.g., specific information on size/color)
  • Representation of packaging components
  • Recommending the graphic standard elements/text to be used, enhancing the ease of implementation, and ensuring that information would be delivered to consumers effectively
