Electrical Products Safety Compliance Certificate
Service Scope
The safety of household electrical products supplied in Hong Kong is under the statutory control of the Electrical Products (Safety) Regulation (CAP. 406G), which will affect all “Suppliers” of an electrical product, who shall ensure that a certificate of safety compliance has been issued for the electrical product before its supply and the electrical product complies with the applicable safety requirements.
Household electrical products are classified as:
| Prescribed products | Non-Prescribed products |
| Other than the prescribed products (e.g. air-conditioners, electric fans, induction hotplates, televisions, etc.) |
Those who fail to do so is liable to:
- First conviction: a fine of $100,000 and imprisonment for 1 year on first conviction;
- Subsequent conviction(s): a fine of $500,000 and imprisonment for 2 years
- A person who supplies an electrical product for which no certificate of safety compliance has been issued is liable to a fine of $10,000

- Relevant product safety standards (e.g IEC 60335 series)
Remarks
Only applicable test items will be conducted on selected product nature and destination market. A detailed test item list will be included in order confirmation email upon order purchase.
Turnaround time (TAT) and service price are subjected to the content specified in the service scope and feature. Failure to provide test-ready samples or application documents would cause a longer period of TAT. TAT is subjected to the successful receipt of all necessary ready-for-testing samples and other materials (if any)
