In the U.S., there is no specific standard for swimming goggles , the related physical, flammability and chemical testing shall be performed.
BS ISO 18527-3 is highly recommended to be demonstrated for the compliance of essential health & safety requirements under PPE regulation. Apart from BS ISO 18527, applicable chemical requirements are also recommended:
- EU REACH Regulation
- Cadmium
- Short Chain Chlorinated Paraffin (SCCP) Content
- Organotin
- Phthalates
- 8 Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)
- US Regulation
- Prop 65 Court case – Phthalates
- Prop 65 Court case – Lead & Cadmium
Specific testing of swimming goggles is required for EU and US market
- BS ISO 18527-3 Eye and face protection for sports use — Part 3: Requirements and test methods for eyewear intended to be used for surface swimming
Additional physical testing are included for the performance of goggles
- Absorption and Transmittance in UV Spectral Range
- Resistance to fogging of oculars

Test Description
There are specific standards required to be tested for compliance in the US and EU markets. Therefore, the following tests will be included according to the US / EU market test package.

Remarks
Only applicable test items will be conducted on selected product nature and destination market. Detailed test item list will be included in order confirmation email upon order purchase. If the battery is included, additional battery requirements shall be arranged.
